Twenty Minutes

Twenty minutes. Doesn’t sound like that much time really. It’s not even half an hour. And honestly, when put in the context of just one day, it really isn’t. But what if you did something every day for just twenty minutes? How much time would you really spend? More than you would think.

If you spent just twenty minutes a day, every day, doing one thing, for one year, you would have dedicated 120 hours to one task. That equals out to exactly five twenty-four hour days. That’s a whole work week!

What do you think you could get done in 120 hours? To help you visualize just how much time that really is, most Masters programs around thirty credit hours of graduate course work and thesis research. That means that you could write FOUR thesis papers if you just dedicated twenty minutes of work every day for one year.

Why am I telling you all this? Simply to remind you just how much time we really have. We forget that people like Elon Musk and Bill Gates have the exact same amount of hours in a day. They don’t get extra time. Yet they can accomplish amazing, incredible things.

Time is valuable. Seconds turn into minutes, which turn into hours, which turn into days, which turn into weeks, which turn into years. You can do so much with the time that you’ve been given. Never, ever forget that. Every second counts.
